Step-by-Step: How to Register for CSAB Special Round 2026

1. Gather Your Credentials

Keep your JEE Main 2026 application number, roll number, and date of birth ready — these are used to create your CSAB login, which is separate from your JoSAA login.

2. Register Fresh on csab.nic.in

From 28 July, visit csab.nic.in and complete registration. This includes creating your account, filling personal and academic details, and paying the non-refundable registration fee. Do not delay this to the last day of the window — server load peaks sharply in the final 24 hours of any national counselling registration.

3. Fill and Order Your Choices

• Don't wait to finalise your list. With registration closing 3 August and locking closing 5 August, you effectively have about a week to research and decide — start shortlisting institute-branch combinations the moment JoSAA ends, not after CSAB opens.
• List broadly. A thin choice list in a special round is riskier than in a regular round, because fewer seats remain. Include every combination you would genuinely accept.
