The Expected 2026 Calendar
Every row below is an expectation derived from how MCC has sequenced previous cycles, not an announcement. For reference, in the previous cycle MCC published its schedule in mid-July, opened Round 1 registration about nine days later, and declared the first allotment result roughly ten days after that.

How Each Round Is Structured
Every MCC round follows the same internal sequence, and knowing it means you are never surprised by a deadline:
- Registration and fee payment — including the refundable security deposit for your stream.
- Choice filling — add and order colleges and courses.
- Choice locking — a hard cutoff; unlocked lists are typically auto-locked as they stand.
- Processing and result — provisional allotment published.
- Reporting — physical or online reporting at the allotted institute within a short window.

What to Do This Week — Without the Schedule
Waiting is not a strategy. Everything below is date-independent and takes longer than you think:
- Assemble documents — and check that name and date of birth match exactly across all of them. See the document checklist.
- Apply for domicile and category certificates in the state-prescribed formats. These take weeks in some states, not days.

As of 27 July 2026, MCC had not published the official NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule at mcc.nic.in. The NEET UG 2026 result was declared on 16 July 2026, and the counselling notification is expected to follow. Every date on this page other than the result date is an expectation based on previous cycles, not an official announcement.
When is MCC NEET UG 2026 Round 1 registration expected to start?
Round 1 registration is widely expected to open in the first half of August 2026, with commentary pointing to a window between roughly 1 and 20 August. For reference, in the previous cycle MCC published its schedule in mid-July and opened Round 1 registration about nine days later. Treat all of this as expectation until MCC notifies.
How long does the full MCC counselling process take?
From Round 1 registration to the end of the Stray Vacancy round, MCC counselling typically runs across roughly two to three months, with each round taking about two to three weeks from registration to the reporting deadline. State counselling runs in parallel on its own calendar, which is why candidates must track two timelines at once.
Where do I check the official MCC counselling dates?
Only mcc.nic.in is authoritative for All India Quota and deemed university counselling dates. For state quota dates, check your own state counselling authority's portal. Coaching sites, news aggregators and social media posts frequently circulate predicted dates as if they were confirmed — always trace any date back to the official notification.
What should I do while waiting for the MCC schedule?
Complete every task that does not depend on dates: assemble and verify your documents, obtain domicile and category certificates in the correct formats, shortlist and order colleges for your choice list, register on your state portal when it opens, and arrange funds for registration fees and security deposits. Candidates who wait for the schedule before starting paperwork are the ones who miss windows.
