What Is IPU CET — and Has It Changed for BTech?

IPU CET stands for Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test, historically the entrance exam for various programmes at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi. For BTech specifically, GGSIPU shifted to accepting JEE Main scores as the basis for admission, replacing the standalone IPU CET for engineering. This means:

• No separate engineering entrance exam to prepare for or register for.
• Your JEE Main 2026 rank is directly used for IPU BTech seat allotment.

The IPU Counselling Process — Step by Step

1. Registration: Visit ipu.admissions.nic.in during the registration window (typically June–July 2026 — check the portal for exact dates). Fill in personal details, upload documents, and pay the registration fee.
2. Document upload: JEE Main scorecard, Class 12 marksheet, Class 10 certificate (for age proof), category certificate if applicable, Delhi domicile / school certificate if claiming Delhi-region quota.
3. Merit list generation: IPU publishes a rank list based on JEE Main scores. Your position on this list determines your allotment priority.

• Each process's fee deposit and withdrawal deadlines — missing one can cost you both seats.
